Sustainable water supply solutions in Northern Uganda

For the SDG WASH Alliance programme in northern Uganda, PRACTICA aims to support AFSRT and AMREF with the introduction and implementation of modular building and pre-payment and monitoring technology – coined ‘WaterTime’.

Goals

  • The objective of the field study was to explore the feasibility of modular building and pre-payment (WaterTime) in Pader and Agago region in terms of community/government demand and support, affordability to pay and composition of the management system.
  • The follow-up project aims to generate increased access to safe and reliable water in rural growth centres in northern Uganda by enabling recurrent cost recovery and system expansion of public water facilities and household connections.

Budget

€16,000 for inception phase and €90,000 for implementation phase.
